Immersive storytelling sounds fantabulously awesome. I was trying to investigate these aspects, but I believe I am truly only a padawan of these arts. As a kid I read "Choose your own adventures" and was an avid reader of these books. I read "Master Of Tae Kwan Doe" and it was awesome. Would immersive storytelling enable me to do as I did before and peek at the next plot story before actually conceding to finally turn the page there? Also, in the virtual environments, would the AI be all inclusive? I.e. a flower would react to sunlight, emit a certain odor possibly through a modified 7.1 speaker system. This I believe along with stimulating the other senses would create such an environment that is not only safe, but immersive with a capital I.

Such technology may only be in its infancy. I am a C programmer, and can trigger AI and OpenGL / Direct3D / Sound objects, but these only appeal to the standard visual and auditory that we get from normal videogames.

Overall this sounds like an awetastic idea. Keep plugin away.
